Hello its great to see how busy you all are on mathletics, it is fun.
This weeks homework is to find a fairytale costume!
We are coming to the end of our Fairytale topic and next week we are going to have a Fairytale day.
In order to get into the spirit of the day I would like the children to dress up as a faiytale character. You could be a Prince, Princess, King, Queen, FairyGodmother or a baddie like Captian Hook or a Troll! The choice is endless.
We will be holding our special day on Friday 13th February.
If you are struggling don't worry we do have some dressing up clothes in our Fairytale cottage.

The last couple of weeks have been very busy with our fabulous Christmas Productions, getting ready for the Carol Service and our Christmas preparations.
As you probably have gathered I have not been in class over the last 3 weeks as Mrs Sian has been absent from school. My apologies for not keeping up with the Blog homework.

Hi Class One
This is one of the most exciting weeks of the year for us as we prepare for Children in Need on Friday. Children in Need is our class' charity to support. Last year we raised over £200 and we are hoping to beat that record this year. Our class is organising the event for the whole school by selling iced buns we have decorated in class, collecting pennies on our huge Pudsey Bear picture and selling tickets for our name the teddy competition. All this will be done dressed in our pyjamas with our teddy bears to help!! You will need to bring 50p to come dressed up and some change for the other activities too. We can't wait... there has been word that Pudsey himself might visit so watch out!!

Hi Class One
Thank you for your great homework on floating and sinking. You obviously had fun investigating in your baths and sinks! I am interested to read about all the unique animals you have discovered in Australia for this week's homework.

On Tuesday I will give you your last homework for this year. This will be to design and make a birthday card for Spencer bear. A huge THANK YOU for raising £370 ish for the Children in Need Pudsey Bear appeal!
We are so proud of you helping all those children who are not as lucky as us.
We also had lots of fun collecting and counting the money we raised, as well as having our Teddies Bear Picnic. (we do have photos but Miss B is having technical problems uploading them from her laptop!)

We have been busy preparing for Pudsey Bear Day on Friday with making posters, invitations, a giant Pudsey Bear and very soon our Pudsey Bear buns... yummy!

What an amazing start to our first half term together.
The highlight has most certainly been BIG WRITING today. You were all wonderful writers, sitting and writing by candle light and fairy lights. We all had special pencils and coloured paper to write with and relaxing music to create a calm atmosphere - the results were that we all wrote a spooky skeleton story!!!

This is the final homework for this term before the Easter break. We have marched on with our weaving topic and the children are producing some lovely fabrics. This is part of a wider topic on Materials where the children have explored the properties of materials by testing for magnetism and making Spencer a waterproof umbrella!!

Our topic about Katie Morag and her life on a remote Scottish Island is now well under way with a week of lessons all about sheep!! We will end the week with the Greenfield Sheep Competition as we have all been busy designing our own sheep to enter - the results are amazing!!
This week's homework is in preparation for next week's theme 'weaving'. We will be focusing on fabrics so I want the children to bring in their favourite fabric from home to talk about why they like it. It can be an item of clothing, a soft toy or even a cushion so get hunting!!

Hi Class One,

What a first week back we have had!! We have been back in time to visit a Victorian School and made toys for Spencer Bear!! A huge thank you to all the parents for a fantastic job with the costumes for our Victorian School Day. The children and I had a super day copy writing, drawing, playing with old Victorian toys at playtime and of course doing our drill lesson! Ask the children about that!! Here we all are in our class photo and each child has an individual photo to take home on Friday night too!

Next week we will begin our topic learning about life on a Scottish Highland Island with alittle girl called Katie Morag. This website will allow the children to look at photos and read text about another island in Scotland so they have some background information before we start.

Hi everyone.....

It has been a disappointing day with our visit to York having to be cancelled due to the awful weather. I am pleased to say that we have rescheduled the visit for Monday 29th January. This will mean we will return to school by approximately 4pm, due to the workshop we want to attend only being available in the afternoon.
This week's homework can be done on the Blog as a list in the comment box.
Next week is Greenfield's Health Week so I want you to record all the fruit and veg you eat in a week. We will be making our own fruit salads and visiting the D-Side project to learn how to look after our bodies.

What a week we have had ....birthday's, rehearsal's, seeing a real rainbow over the playground as we were writing stories about finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (what timing!) and growing a snowman over the weekend. Here is the homework for this week... I have actually found Digby Mole and his word games which should have been our homework last week. I think Digby Mole had burrowed underground and didn't want to be found.
Digby Mole wants you to play the First Sounds Games and suggests you start the game on
Level 1 (this is very easy!) and then work upto Level 2 and even Level 3 if you can!! You can do this game without sound but it is more fun if you turn your sound on.

Here is our next homework.
This week we are focusing on blending sounds with Words and Pictures.
This great fun as the word blender does all the hard work for you...all you have to do is read the words. This website does need sound as the wordblender will tell you which word to make.

Hello Everyone
Here is a collection of photos of our Pudsey Bear Day!!
We had such fun collecting pennies on Pudsey. Everyone at school was very generous.
Our picnic was great fun too when we all met each other's teddies and enjoyed a Pudsey bun and chocolate Pudsey.
Friday was a very busy day too when we had to count all the money. We have made £99.54 to date and haven't counted the teachers donations yet!! Hooray.

WOW! the blog is really taking off now with 11 of us now doing homework on the internet. The children's response has been very enthusiatic!!
This week we have been learning our teen numbers so this website will help us to recognise numbers and practise counting on. Enjoy the Numbertime game of Snakes and Ladder!

This blog is really taking off now....
Just an update on our new topic 'Light and Dark'... the children are so enthusiatic and loving it!! This week we are learning how to make light bulbs light up with circuits. Watch out for photos later in the week!!
If you have set up a blog for your child could you please check the security settings to enable limited access to people commenting on their blog. To do this go to settings then moderate comments and select registered users only. This will mean only the children and myself can access your child's blog!! Great and if you have any problems please come and see me and I will TRY to sort it out for you.

Hi Class One

A huge thank you to everyone who accessed the Blog over the holidays and had great fun on the BBC website. I really enjoyed sending you a comment back to your own blogs.
